Frankfurt--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Interactive Data Corporation (NYSE: IDC), a leading provider of financial market data, analytics and related solutions, today announced that its Managed Solutions group has added a new Tick History Service to its PrimeContent product portfolio. PrimeContent offers retail, private and investment banks, and third party software vendors direct access to a universe of global financial data. The Tick History Service via PrimeContent is a hosted software as a service (SaaS) using a shared infrastructure designed to allow banks and financial services providers access to global historical financial market data for internal bank analyses and risk management.

The service is designed to deliver historical intra-day stock market quotations, including bid and ask information, for traded securities from a wide range of venues. Interactive Data has retained the historical tick data from such venues since 1 November 2007. In addition, clients can filter the data by trading venue or security. The service is designed for use by compliance and risk managers at banks and regulatory authorities for backtesting, investment strategies, risk management of client investments (best execution), and market compliance testing.

The Tick History Service covers a large number of significant markets in Europe, the US and Asia. In addition, multilateral trade facilities (MTFs), such as Turquoise, Boat and Chi-X, are also available. The tick data can be delivered as pricing data only or bundled with bid and ask quotes.

“Banks and financial service providers are required to meet increasingly complex and changing compliance rules,” said Carsten Dirks, managing director, Interactive Data Managed Solutions. “This environment underlines the importance of access to historical market data and stock prices that are available on a tick-by-tick basis. Our new Tick History Service offered via PrimeContent offers a shared infrastructure through which users can access a wide range of global content.”

Interactive Data offers a range of historical market data services that are designed for real-time charting, backtesting algo strategies, quant research, risk management, compliance and market conformity checks.
